Our website is https://newfoundlandcabins.com We are a small, family-run cabin rental business located in Newfoundland, Canada.

When you simply visit the site

We use only the essential cookies required for the site to function and to keep it secure. These cookies do not track you across the internet and are not used for advertising.

When you fill in the waitlist or inquiry form

We collect:

  • Name (as you choose to give it)
  • Email address
  • Preferred dates and any note you write

This information is stored securely in our booking system (Freetobook) and our private email (Microsoft 365). We use it only to reply to you and manage your future stay. Nothing is shared with third parties except our booking processor and payment provider when a reservation is confirmed.

When you book and pay

Our payment processor (Stripe) sets its own cookies to prevent fraud and process the transaction securely. Their privacy policy is here: https://stripe.com/privacy

Analytics

We use a self-hosted, anonymized analytics tool (Fathom Analytics or Plausible – no cookies, no personal data, IP addresses are anonymized within seconds). No data is ever sold or shared.

3. Embedded content

Some pages contain a short video hosted on Vimeo. Vimeo may set cookies when the video plays. Their privacy policy is here: https://vimeo.com/privacy

4. How long we keep your data

Waitlist and inquiry data is kept for 36 months so we can contact you when your preferred dates open. Booking and payment data is kept for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 6).

5. Where your data is sent

All data stays in Canada or the EU (Freetobook and Microsoft 365 data centres). Stripe processes payments in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

6. Your rights over your data

You can:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Withdraw consent for future marketing (we rarely send any)
